Overview: The Foundry Networks FastIron FES9604-DC, is a product from the FastIron Edge Switch (FES) product series. The Foundry FastIron FES9604-DC uses a highly scalable product architecture which is beneficial for expansion and redesign and works on the command line interface system or CLI. The FastIron FES9604-DC Switch includes 96-Port 10/100Base-TX RJ45 L2/Basic L3, 4-Port 1000Base-T and 1000Base-X (mini-GBIC) w/ -48vDC Power Supply. Designed to ideally mount in a 1.5 to 2 RU mount the FES9604-DC provides a customized user selectable Layer 2 configuration and provides expandability to layer 3 support though expansion modules. The Foundry FastIron FES9604-DC is powered by a -48v volt DC supply and can be run using any type of backup system or in remote locations where only DC power is available. Description: The FES9604-DC features highly advanced configuration management systems which allows the system administrator to configure data prioritization, rate limiting, standard and extended ACLs, integrated Copper Gigabit Ethernet ports. The FES9604-DC has a 96 10Base-T and Ethernet 100Base-TX ports along with 4 1000 base-T uplink add on modules. Four SFP GBIC expansion slots are also provided. The FES9604-DC is ideally suited for rich applications like VOIP and multimedia streaming and can effortlessly handling the demanding requirements of these services. Using a high data transfer rate of 100 Mbps and compliance with all major networking standards which ensures that end users are given standard compatibility for any application.
